Ebola Outbreak in the Congo
Yikes!
An Ebola outbreak has occurred in the Congo.
Course it isn’t just Congolese, really, since there has been an ongoing spreading set of outbreaks in Uganda, Kenya, and now Congo in the past few years.
Is this the start of the dreaded pandemic? I hope not, but this would also not be happening if the world would have acted long ago. If not for the world’s lack of action as the Rwanda-Uganda-Congo genocide-cum-civil war continues to spiral downward and outward in ever-increasing chaos and violence. You see, inaction has severe and often unforseen repercussions.
Angola has also closed it border with Congo because of this:
An outbreak of Ebola in the Democratic Republic of Congo has caused Angolan authorities to close part of their border with the country, Reuters reports. Angolans will be forbidden to travel to the DRC from the northeastern province of Norde Lunde. The Ebola outbreak is suspected of infecting 40 and killing 13 in the DRC’s Western Kasai province since November—no cases have been reported in Angola.
