This is so horrific to watch. I was born on the shores of the Gulf and we have destroyed it. Utterly. This is a nightmare from which I cannot wake.
America is supposedly the most powerful, wealthiest nation on earth. Why aren’t we mobilizing all our resources, all our equipment, boats, all our navy, all our soldiers, everything we have to help stop and clean up this environmental catastrophe? We make war on everything else, from our neighbors to drugs to poverty to culture itself. Why can’t we make war on this BP Oil disaster? We must devote ourselves to solving this and making it right.
